What is the difference between Reserves and Reference?
Reserves and Reference
Answer
Course Reserves are materials that your professor has set aside for you at the Library. These items may be checked out only for a short period of time, which gives all the students in the class sufficient time to use the materials.
The Reference Collection does not circulate, meaning the items may not be checked out. Reference materials are usually books used to find straightforward answers, or that contain short articles that can be read in one sitting. Examples of reference materials are dictionaries, encyclopedias, and handbooks.
